About Meby Eman Sadiq |
Hello reader! I'm Eman, a sophomore at Stuyvesant High School, and welcome to my personal webpage! Here you'll get a preliminary introduction of my interests, hobbies, pet peeves, and various other (somewhat strange) details. Enjoy!
📒 Reading and Writing: My First True Loves 📒 I guess my favorite pastime is reading different books, and sometimes short stories and poems, that are recommended to me by friends or siblings. 📖 Oftentimes there isn't any strict pattern to my reading, meaning that sometimes I'll read a play and other instances I'll be fine with a mystery novel. In any case, I love reading strong writing (but perhaps my own writing isn't as strong as I want); from this follows my other favorite pastime: writing ✍! I've actually stopped writing as much as I used to (because of school and all), but every now and then I'll take a break to pen down anything that comes into my head (lately this has just become an outlet for my frustration).I should probably mention that I enjoy reading other people's writing as much as I like writing myself, and I also like giving feedback and ✨ constructive criticism ✨! In other words, I think peer editing is fun. 📝(So if you don't already think I'm boring, this should be enough to convince you.) | ||
(Some people this book is boring, but I personally loved it...) |
(This book is especially fascinating if you're into sci-fi stuff.) |
(A rather disturbing but still a very powerful book.) |

🧬 Anything Genetics-Related 🧬 One of the topics that my biology teacher covered last year was genetics, and it was this subject matter that became my favorite part of science class. I guess the specific idea that peaked my interest the most was DNA-related mutations and, more specifically, diseases that arise because of these DNA mutations. Building off that, the kinds of diseases and disorders that interest me the most are tumor-related ones, like certain types of cancer (the main kind I can think of is breast cancer, which is also something that really fascinated me). Anyway, if DNA stuff sounds as cool to you as it does to me, then you should check out this cool (albeit very detailed) article about DNA history, structure, base pairings, and more. It is a decade old, so you can probably find newer articles, but it does have some amazing diagrams to its credit. |
Three- and four-stranded DNA formations! (Sorry, but this image is really cool so I had to put it in...) |
⭐Learning (and Speaking) Spanish ⭐ I've been taking Spanish as a class since middle school, and so the necessity to learn more Spanish started out as something I felt obliged to do, because I wanted to do well in school (which is probably relatable to any other Stuy student). The more I learned though, the more fun I found Spanish to be, and soon I viewed learning and speaking Spanish less of a chore and more of an insightful experience. From here I did a ton of Duolingo outside of school, and got better at the language with the help of outside material; but when quarantine began I found myself losing motivation to do, well, anything, so I took a short hiatus from my Spanish-learning adventure. Lately I've started up with practicing extra Spanish again, and I definitely find it one of the things that has interested me for several years now. |

This is supposed to be a fun section, so here's a ✨ FUN ✨ list of my biggest pet peeves...

Yes, that ended on a kind of serious note, so now I'll refer anyone who's gotten this far to a super cool website that I find fascinating. (It's the U.S. debt clock, if you were wondering, and it's a lot of fun to explore because you can also check out debts in specific states, other countries, and even countries' energy outputs.) Alright, if you've gotten up to here, congrats! You now know more about me than you'll ever need to, but you probably shouldn't mind, right? That's what you came here for, after all. Anyway, thanks a bunch for reading everything (unless you just scrolled right to the bottom, in which case I'd like to let you know how much cool stuff you've missed)! Best wishes from a clumsy, forgetful, and somewhat thickheaded individual!!! |
