Yohoo~

Heya~~

My name is Jason Dang. I live in Brooklyn, NY. I am currently a sophomore at Stuyvesant Highschool.
I am apart of the Chess Team in Stuyvesant and, as of me writing this, am trying out for the Volleyball team.
My hobbies are playing volleyball, playing chess (no surprise there), watching anime, and hanging out with friends.

Chess

I started playing chess in December of 2019. I was an eighth grader in Mark Twain I.S.239.
I didn't have any hobbies I really enjoyed before starting chess.
The only thing I could be seen doing was playing video games or watching anime.
To this day, I still do not know why I was/am so fascinated with chess but is it something that is really important? Enough about me.
Below is a picture of my favorite chess player. His name is Magnus Carlsen and he is the current reigning World Chess Champion.

Volleyball

The first time I played volleyball was sometime during gym in middle school. It was undoubtebly the most scuffed volleyball I have ever experienced.
However, that was the beginning of my interest in the sport of volleyball. I was dogshit at volleyball back then. It was still enjoyable unlike other sports such as basketball.
Despite my interest in volleyball, I didn't start committing time into it until the summer of 2021. And, oh boy, there was a lot of time during the summer.
I went to practices with a coach 4-5 days a week all summer long and ended up becoming more and more in love with volleyball without even realizing it.
My favorite player is Nishida Yuji, whose picture is directly below. He is my favorite because he is relatively short compared to others who play his position, like me.
Another player like this is the fictional character Shoyo Hinata from the anime Haikyu. Anime?? WOW that segways into the next section!!

Anime

Anime. Ah, yes. The thing that has gone from getting you bullied to being somewhat socially acceptable.
And if you were wondering, the girl in the About Me section is from an anime called My Dress Up Darling
Her name is Kitagawa Marin and she is the main female protagonist. Dress Up Darling isn't one of my favorite animes of all time but I love the character design of Marin.
So what is the appeal of anime? Well, it can provide well thought out stories with emotionally connectable characters, beautiful animation and DELIGHTFUL fanservice. If you bothered to read through the rest of this webpage, then you should know the pattern. I also applaud you for going through this boring abomination of words.
So here are three of my favorite animes of all time: Darling in the Franxx, Demon Slayer, and Seven Deadly Sins.
