Personal Upbringing

My parents were born in the 60s in Kiev, then the USSR, and maybe in the not too distant future as well… and they had been raised entirely under the hood of Soviet domination and education. They immigrated to Knoxville Tennessee in 1992, in which they were able to achieve their American education secondary to the University education that they had achieved in Kiev. After their several year long stay in Knoxville with a host family, they emigrated to New York City just before the turn of the millennia and had my brother in ‘99 and me in ‘06.

Identity and thoughts

In my view, a major part of my identity is the outsider vision that my family history and attitudes have granted me. The people of the Soviet Republics were always in some way opposed to the going-ons of the Americans, or were ignorant to such things as a result of state suppression , and although my parents never had hatred for Americans, there was always a sense of curiosity regarding the way things are done here and how people act.
This mode of thinking about the place we live in combined with the constant interactions and friendships with Americans has led my identity to occupy this sort of nice cocoon, where I get the enjoy the freedoms of American culture as well as the outsider Soviet community.

Interests

For as long as I can remember, I have always had a deep fascination with the cosmos. The allure of one day travelling to space has always kept me going despite the annoyances of schoolwork. In many ways I tried to pseudo-pursue this interest, most notably by purchasing a telescope, which unlocked many a beautiful sights for me and my family.

My dream and goal in life is to be able to found an aerospace company, that would develop new engine technology to help accelerate the multiplanetary transformation of humanity and perhaps even extrasolar transformation of humanity. I would also love to use the power and wealth generated by owning a (hopefully) successful company to conduct R&D in other fields, to be of help in a diverse set of fields, as well as humanitarian and artistic work.
