Background Info

  • I was born in China
  • I came to the U.S. at the age of 3
  • I have an older sister, and she is currently attending MIT
  • On September, 2009, I arrived in New York with my mom and sister. My dad was already here
  • It was actually the first time that I met my dad. He came to the U.S. 6 months after my mom was pregnant
  • When I first saw him, I was questioning why my sister was hugging him
  • English is my second language
  • I was struggling in elementary school since I did not understand anything. I had absolutely no clue about what the teachers were talking about. Once when I got in trouble, the teacher yelled at me; however, I didn't even know the reason
  • I really miss China. I haven't seen my grandparents in so long. I also miss my cousins since I really do not have any relatives in the U.S. The last time I went back was 4 years ago. Sadly, my grandparents have never been to the U.S. since they are not strong enough to handle the flight.

Sports And Hobbies

  Basketball
  • My favorite sport is basketball
  • I started to play basketball in 7th grade
  • I am not the best basketball player, however, I truly enjoy playing it
  • During breaks, no matter how cold it is outside, I would still go out to play basketball with my friends. We have played in both the rain and the snow before, and even if the temperature is below freezing point.
  • The position I would play is center.
  • If I was not in Stuyvesant High School, I would have much more time to practice
  • However, due to the pressure from this school, majority of my friends are now better than me. We all started around the same time, but I just never have the time to go out to the park anymore. As I am working on this webpage, my friends would either be playing video games, working out in the gym, or playing basketball in the park :(

  Badminton
  • I also enjoy playing badminton
  • I would say that it was my favorite sport before I started to play basketball
  • I started playing badminton in first grade
  • I would consider myself a pretty decent badminton player
  • When I was young, I would bother my sister to play badminton with me all the time and she always gets annoyed :)
  • I have not play it with her in a long time since she is in Boston. I wish I still have the chance to play it with her
  • Again, if I was not in Stuyvesant, I think I would have try out for a badminton team. The study is really stopping me from exercising and having fun :(

Games

  1. My favorite game is "Mobile Legends Bang Bang." It is very similar to "League of Legends." Both of these games are Moba style games, but Mobile legends is for mobile devices, such as iphones or ipads. My friends and I are tryhards in this game. We have gotten many titles in this game. This best title that I remember getting is U.S.A #4 "Beatrix" player (fourth best at playing this character). Two of my other friends have also gotten these supreme titles with the heroes that they specialize in. During breaks, we would sometimes stay in a voice chat for over 24 hours, just to grind this game (probably why we are single :)).
  2. Another game that we used to tryhard in, is Fortnite. Our highest kill record was 51 kills. We wiped out more than half of the lobby in a battle royale game. Sadly, Fortnite got banned on Mobile devices, or else we would have never quit the game. In both of these games, we have joined competitive tournaments, however, we always lose :(

When I have time, usually in the Summer, I would watch some shows/dramas. I love to watch romantic and funny ones. Therefore, I've watched several Cdramas and comedy-dramas. My friends always can me weird for that, but I do not really care. I enjoy watching them as much as playing video games. Some that I have watched includes:

Music
I love listening to either gloomy or romantic songs. And of course, my friends again call me weird for that. They always question why I listen to Alan Walker songs or Chinese songs. However, I really do not have an answer for them. I do not even know the answer to that question myself. Anyways some songs that I listen to includes:
