1		Charizard	Charizard da goat no cap. Name a more iconic pokemon from Gen 1 (Pikachu doesn't count because the anime made him popular). But Charizard is like the coolest. His stats are really good. Fire + Flying allows him to receive STAB (same type attack bonus) and his total stats are the highest of the 3 starters. His mega-evolutions in the later generations are the coolest ever since Mega-Charizard Y brings Drought, increasing the damage of his fire-type abilities, while Mega-Charizard X gets that sweet dragon type that everyone has said Charizard has always deserved (I'm a big fan of this guy).
2		Meowth	Meowth is way way way cooler than his evolution Persian because of how epic this guy is in the Pokemon anime. He's a pretty funny character in the show and while his stats are so pitifully bad, he is still our icon.
3		Gengar	I used to be so scared of Gengar. His mega evolution looks like a menace and also has a really cool ability. Gengar has worse stats than Alakazam, and loses to Alakazam in a head to head battle but he makes up for it with his typing, Ghost and Poison. Ghost allows him to avoid a lot of the attacks that are super effective against Poison types. His STAB Shadow Ball does insane damage.
4		Alakazam	abra. kadabra. ALAKAZAM!!! Best named Pokemon evolution line by far. His mega in later generations is really strong and Alakazam has a really strong movepool, which makes him really good for competitve play. He has really good stats and he's really easy to obtain, making it a great choice for beginners/new players though Abra/Kadabra are kind of useless.
5		Mewtwo	The BEST Pokemon backstory ever. Genetically engineered, goes rogue, and has the coolest face ever while doing it. He looks like the Sasuke of the Pokemon World. His entire aura is so epic. He is most definitely the top legendary of Gen 1.
6		Rapidash	Honestly? I don't really know all that much about Rapidash. But his speed is really high, and he's LITERALLY A FLAMING HORSE. that is so cool!!!
7		Electrode	I have used this guy a total of one time but his smirk is so cool. Like he's just done a major Tee-Hee and gotten away with it. That's all.
8		Arcanine	Arcanine is really, really strong, with such a high overall stat and attack power. But there isn't too much special about him. When I played through Gen 1, I used him a lot but he's not really all that special. He's not as cute as Growlithe. But he carried me so I need to put him here.
9		Jolteon	Eevee is adorable, and they gave it the best evolution line to boot. As of Gen 8, there are 8 possible evolutions for Eevee, and in Gen 1, there are only 3. Jolteon is obviously the best of these, because I am in Team Instinct in Pokemon Go and also my Jolteon is named Sparky and that is pretty cool.
10		Magikarp	Best stats in the game, best legendary, best anything. Splash is probably the strongest move in Pokemon history, and it's super effective. Moving aside, it's evolution ,Gyrados, is genuinely so cool (a water dragon? epic).
